Gabby Duran and the Unsittables by Elise Allen and Daryle Conners-ADVISABLE

Allen, Elise and Conners, Daryle. Gabby Duran and the Unsittables. Pgs. 192. Disney Hyperion, 2015. Language: G, Mature Content: PG, Violence: PG

In addition to playing the French Horn and wanting to be a musician, Gabby Duran is a world-class babysitter. She can calm any reckless child, even triplets. Known for her skills, she has helped out movie stars as well as neighbors. When A.L.I.E.N. (Association Linking Intergalactics and Earthlings as Neighbors) catches wind of her skills, they enlist her help to protect a young, rambunctious, shape-shifting alien, known as an Unsittable.  The situation is a little inconvenient, however, because she is also trying to audition for the solo part in her school’s band. With a bounty on her and her charge’s heads and undercover agents for the G.E.T.O.U.T. (Group Eradicating Totally Objectionable Uninvited Trespassers) hot on her trail, can Gabby keep the Unsittable safe? Will she make the solo part and keep her friends or lose everything?

The characters in this book are fun and engaging. The plot is humorous, accessible, and entertaining. Reluctant and avid readers will enjoy following the crazy babysitting adventures of Gabby.
