Not surprisingly, this book about torture describes many, many methods used from the earliest recorded time up to the present day.  While few of graphically bloody in the extreme, the number of them accumulate to a book that has heavy content.  The information is matter-of-fact, not intended to be titillating, and honest, not sparing any culture, including the United States, from being exposed.  Purchase this for a straightforward look at this controversial topic.
