Albert Whitman & Company, 2015. $16.99 PICTURE BOOK Content: G
Madame
Martine and her dog, Max, go everywhere together. They go to the café for
breakfast, go shopping, and explore the city of Paris. Their friend, Louis, is
a guard at the Louvre and wants them to come and visit to see all the beautiful
works of art. Madame, however, knows that dogs are not allowed at the museum and
since breaking the rules is wrong, she refuses. One Saturday, Madame Martine
and Max find themselves having the adventure of a lifetime, but will their
opportunity to see the Mona Lisa end up with them getting in big trouble?
This
book is a fun story that introduces young readers to Paris and the wonderful
world of art. Madame Martine and her dog, Max, are a charming duo whose story
will be enjoyed by readers of all ages. The illustrations are a lovely
compliment to an overall appealing story.
