This picture book features five British children as they experience the variety of events that occur during the twelve months of the year..examples include Rugby starting, Spring Bank Holiday, School Lunch, Tea Parties, Jaffa Cakes and Midsummers Day at Stonehenge.
Adorable artwork but much of the interesting 'unique to England' type of facts and events are named but not explained, which is zero help to a young reader. One example of this is Cricket, in the image it does look like a sport, but with no description its not very helpful to young readers. As an entire book about one countries children, would a library buy an entire series of every single country? I must say I prefer a single book that compares lives of say 5 different children in 5 different countries.
