Arnett, Mindi The Nightmare Charade, 380 pages. TOR, 2015. $19. Language: PG-13 (20 swears, 0 ‘f’); Mature Content: G; Violence: PG-13 (some bloody fighting).
Dusty and Eli are not supposed to have any contact outside of their dream sessions, because everybody is concerned about the supposed curse and Lady Elaine’s visions. SO not only is Dusty frustrated that she has zero alone time with Eli, but she knows that Murray is still out there trying to kill her. Then Dusty’s mother appears on campus, is captured by the Will Guard, and then disappears from custody - stolen just like other Nightmares were. Dusty may only be a junior, but her problems are world-shattering. There are traitors on campus and if she doesn’t identify them, many people will die.
Arnett saved her best for last. Dusty has grown in skill, made some valuable friendships, and is not willing to sit around doing nothing. I am very happy with having read the entire series.
