Lia, the Princess of Morgan, is a
captive in the hostile land of Venda.
Kaden, a boy she thought she could trust, is the assassin for Venda and
has brought Lia as a bargaining chip for their kingdom before the Komizar,
Venda’s ruthless leader. Although the
Komizar doesn’t like Lia, he sees the value she can bring to his kingdom and
starts to advertise her magical abilities as a way to bring hope to his people. Lia and her secret boyfriend, Rafe, try to
find a way to leave the kingdom even though they are far away from home.
This is the second book and it’s important to
have read the first book to understand what is happening. The author does a great job connecting the
two books, so I quickly remembered what happened in the first book. Lia is a great main character and it is fun
to follow her adventures. The minor
characters have depth and are hard not to like, even when you aren’t supposed
to. The violence is pretty
gruesome. The book has a major cliff
hanger for the ending, and I can’t wait to see how this series ends. The audio book readers are amazing.
