Maccarone, Grace. Butterfly’s Surprise, BOARD BOOK. Little Bee Books, 2016. $6.99. Little Butterfly really wants to rain to go away so that she can finally have a sunny day. Her parents tell her that they have a surprise for her so she goes on the hunt trying to find it. She looks under rocks, leaves, bushes, grass and more but all she finds is some of her animal friends. Eventually she looks into the sky to find a glittery rainbow surprise that she can share with all of her friends. Young readers will enjoy lifting the flaps to look for Butterfly’s surprise, but I found it to be a little monotonous, as Butterfly encountered basically the same thing over and over again.
