This book follows a Platypus as it goes throughout its day, feeding and moving constantly. Near the end of the book when daylight arrives, readers learn more about the burrow and the nestlings. Features dark green muddy illustrations.
This is a picture book about animals that has enough information for a pretty decent animal report and would still be short enough for a read-aloud. I realize that the Platypus are mostly awake at night so the illustrations would be darker, but the subdued tone of the majority of the book makes it incredibly unappealing for young readers. Honestly I would rather just have an informational books with lush photography.
