Scher, Paula. The Brownstone, PICTURE BOOK. Princeton Architectural Press, 2015. $17.95. Six different families live in one brownstone together. The bear family is ready to hibernate, but encounters all sorts of loud noises and can’t sleep. When they ask to be moved to a different room, it means moves for all the other families as well. Over and over again, the animals trade places to get to the perfect set-up to make everyone happy. This was so tedious. The rearranging wasn’t interesting or fun to watch, it just became boring very quickly. There wasn’t any investment for the reader to really care what happened. The only use I could see would be for a math lesson on making various combinations. K-3, EL- OPTIONAL. Reviewed by Shay, School Librarian
