The book provides fairly simple information about how the sun affects the seasons and time of day. It explains orbit and rotation and uses a lengthy experiment that students can do themselves that illustrations the facts. Features colorful simple illustrations.
Though this is a reprint the illustrations still feel fresh and modern. The information is well presented. The big problem I had with this book is the experiment for kids with the orange and the flashlight, it goes on and on and starts to get confusing. This would have been better for the back of the book as a hands-on. Teachers still request books from this series so it might be beneficial to pick up fresh copies. This one wasn’t my very favorite, but it would make a fun read-along, if the teacher was doing the orange/pencil experiment while reading from the book, to bring it to life.
