Armo, Nancy. A Friend for Mole, PICTURE BOOK. Peachtree Publishers, 2016. $16.95. Mole loves his underground burrow. It’s dark and cozy and he enjoys imagining everything that is going on above him. One day he decides to venture out and explore the world above, but he gets disoriented, tumbles, and gets lost. He falls asleep under some bushes and discovers a small wolf in the same place, afraid of the dark. They keep each other company until the daytime when the wolf can help Mole get back to his home. This is a sweet story about finding a friend to help you get through the times when you’re scared. I was really intrigued at the beginning, but it fizzles out at the end. I like the moral of the book, but it was less engaging than I thought it could be. PRE-K, K-3- OPTIONAL. Reviewed by Shay, School Librarian
