Alex doesn't want to go visit his grandparents, but he has to
because his parents are going on vacation. He corresponds with his parents, and
as the letters progress –Alex is gradually having more fun –he gets to eat ice
cream before dinner, play soccer in the house, and square dance. By the end
Alex is asking to extend his stay.
This is a must have book for those schools who celebrate Grandparents day. The story is wonderful and I love the evolution of Alex’s feelings for his grandparents. I personally don’t care for the illustrations of David Catrow because they are too busy to easily share during a story time.
