Nels mother has kept him isolated his entire life. When he finally defies her and attends the
local annual festival, he draws the wrong attention and ends up dead – a ghost
who can inexplicably only be seen by the kingdom’s princess, who wants absolutely
nothing to do with him, especially after Nels humiliated the love of her life,
the knight Arek. But of Tyra doesn’t
help Nels, his life is not the only one that will be I danger – the entire
kingdom will be threatened by an evil they thought had left years ago.
I have read some really excellent classic fantasy lately and
this is another. While Nels and Tyra’s
story is also romantic, the growing relationship between them is more important
than a burning passion. The magical
elements are nice touches that support the story, not control it.
