Mara wakes up in the mental
institution with evil Dr. Keels telling her that Noah is dead. Mara breaks out of the institution after
killing those who have tortured her and starts on a journey with her two good
friends to find Noah and uncover who is heading the institution that is trying
to uncover Mara and her friends’ powers.
As Mara gets further away from the control of Dr. Keels she feels like
she can’t always control her powers, but she must if she is going to help Noah.
This is the conclusion of Mara Dyer’s story and although there is a little
twist about who the bad guy is, the overall story seems drawn out. Mara turns dark and it made it hard to like
her and I didn’t feel like there was a concrete resolution to the story. I didn’t enjoy this last book as much as the
other two, and the content is over the top as far as swearing goes. The violence was an attempted rape, slit throats
and other blood and gore.
