Rex finds an egg, and is so thrilled that he tries to protect it at all costs. But when a volcano blows -- and blows the egg right out of his hands -- Rex learns a little something about his most prized possession. The pictures in this book are colorful, and the simple text is suitable for sharing with younger children. The repetition does become annoying, however, and the very roughly-drawn illustrations could be more appealing.
