Cyrus, Kurt. Motordog Illustrated by David Gordon. Unpaged. 2014. Hyperion Books (Disney). $17.
A boy sends away for a motor, or robot, dog. When he arrives, the dog has lots of extra features like a rocket, helicopter blade, parachute, and remote control. When it starts chasing a cat, however, all the extras get the dog and his boy into much more serious problems than usual. Luckily the usual bond that exists between a boy and his dog are as strong as ever.
Told in rhyming stanzas, the story is a fun combination of pet and techno fantasies. However, why did they write Motordog as one word for the title but two words throughout the text? That annoyed me.
