Johann life is turned upside down when his cousin Brigitta goes missing. After a dangerous encounter with a stone snake, Johann is found by Siegfried, a magician, who takes him to an in-between world to teach him magic. Their kingdom is trouble; the queen is sick and so is the world they live in. Plus Johann must find and save Brigitta, who herself is having some adventures. On a larger scale, there are people in our very own world disappearing when they touch a music box. How are the two places connected?
Does that sound like a confusing description? Well I am the one that read this messy book and I am still confused. For me there was too many complex, yet boring, characters and plot elements, all woven together wrong. A student would have a challenging time be able to keep all the characters straight let alone the plot. It was like three books worth of ideas crammed into one book. Not recommended.
