The Royal Treatment by Lindsey Leavitt - ESSENTIAL

Leavitt, Lindsey The Royal Treatment (a Princess for Hire book), 264 p. Disney, 2011.  $17.  As a princess substitute, Desi Bascomb loves her life.  Any time a princess needs a sub, Desi can apply her Royal Rouge and step into her shoes.  But eighth grade brings a lot of drama on its own – plays, boys, frenemies -  and maybe the drama of princess substitution can be too interfering.  How can she stay away for crush-worthy Prince Karl?  How can she flake out on her mentor, Meredith?  There are secrets – human and mystical – to be discovered and sub jobs to fulfill.  Its hardest to remember that Desi is so young.  She has to juggle so much – she reads a bit older, but 8th grade it is – and it is so much fun.  This is one series I don’t mind reading.  And I can’t wait for #3, because this one brought about some really GREAT surprises!  MS – ESSENTIAL.
