Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead - ESSENTIAL

Mead, Richelle Last Sacrifice, 594 p. Razorbill (Penguin), 2010.  $18.  Language: PG-13, Violence: PG.  Rose Hathaway’s life should be perfect. Her teacher and love, Dmitri has been redeemed from the Strigoi and Queen Tatiana, the leader of the Moroi, is dead.  But Dmitiri refuses to have anything to do with Rose and Rose is in prison, awaiting execution, as she is the only suspect in Tatiana’s murder.  It will take all of her friends, a bold escape, a major diversion, a few hidden truths and Dmitri’s help in order to solve the murder, save Rose and find a new monarch for the Moroi world.  The final edition of the Vampire Academy books was much more satisfying and interesting then the last.  I can see why the last book needed to be, but I am so glad I decided to read this.  MS – OPTIONAL (Language); HS – ESSENTIAL.
