Without You by Genevieve Cote--OPTIONAL

Cote, Genevieve. Without You. Philomel, 2011. $15.99. PICTURE BOOK. Two friends, a pig and a rabbit, head off to play together, but then they get into a fight. Soon enough, the two friends are saying that they don't need the other friend in order to do various activities (like paint or play a musical instrument). But then they quickly realize that those same activities are more enjoyable when done with a friend. Without You is an okay book about friendship. It is a quick read, and that is good for a younger audience. I can think of many better books about friendship than this one, but it still has its place. PreK, EL (K-3) – OPTIONAL. Brent Smith, Reading Teacher.
