One particular ityasaari, Genoula, is bent on twisting the war and the other half-breed to accomplish her unknown agenda. With the ability to charm humans and mind-control other ityasaari, she is a dangerous adversary With her mission looking more and more hopeless and Genoula stopping her at every turn, can Seraphna stop her? What is Genoula’s true intent?

This plot is well-developed and enjoyable to read. Although some characters are one-dimensional enough to grate readers the wrong way, most of the characters are well developed. The imagery is detailed and does a great job of drawing the reader into Seraphina’s world. With high stakes and each chapter ending with a new dilemma, readers will enjoy following and rooting for Seraphina. People who liked the first book, Seraphina and enjoy fantasy, dragons, and adventure will enjoy reading this book.
