Lucy has had a crush on her best friend’s boyfriend, Cole, since Lucy
met him first four years ago. Lucy has
tried to suppress her feelings for Cole, but when her best friend gets sick
with the flu the night of Prom she asks Lucy to go for her with Cole. Lucy and Cole share a kiss and a compromising
picture shows up on the school’s gossip website, which causes Lucy to become
the target for bullying. Lucy spends the
book solving the mystery of who framed her and makes new friends who help
her.
Lucy is an easy character to like
and the book has enough going on that it is easy to read. The message about social media versus living
in reality is interesting and discussed throughout, but it wasn’t worth the
amount of swearing and the gratuitous “F” word.
The sexual content is a 1 ½ page joke about a sexual toy.
HS-OPTIONAL.
Reviewer, C. Peterson.
