have a wonderful beach day planned.
Their main goal is to see a whale, even though Caterina is sure that they probably won’t. Seeing a
whale rarely happens and can’t be planned. While waiting and hoping to see a
whale, they build sand castles, collect sea shells, and fly a kite. Caterina is so busy planning all of these
events that she neglects to see what Leo sees over and over: A WHALE! The whale
appears in several pages while Caterina is not looking. Little ones will thrill at finding the whale
and will enjoy the ending to this fun and exciting book. The illustrations are adorable and will make
reading this book all the more enjoyable. Pre-K. EL (K-3).
