The book has the reader practice shapes first and then see how those shapes make the characters from the Pete the Cat series.  The reader is given step by step instructions on how to draw the characters and objects.   Then a place to add them in scene on that page.  The book is colorful, vibrant, and is sure to appeal to aspiring artists of different skill levels.  A library concern would be that children would draw in this book instead of using it as a reference.
