Smith, Danna. Swallow the Leader: A Counting Book, PICTURE BOOK. Clarion Books, 2016. $16.99. Ten fish count themselves in the ocean as they swim along. They rhyme and chant and hide from predators together. Once they get to ten a shark comes along and snatches them up, one by one. At the very end, the shark burps all the fish up again. I was a little bored by this book through the beginning, but I have to say that the shark eating the fish did take me by surprise. Not an essential buy, but still a fun one if you are able.
