The Creepy Case Files of Margo Maloo by Drew Weing - ADVISABLE

Weing, Drew  The Creepy Case Files of Margo Maloo, 121 pgs.  GRAPHIC NOVEL  First Second, 2016.  $15.99  Content: PG.

Charles has just moved to a big city where his father is renovating a run-down old apartment building.  Charles quickly realizes that there is literally a monster in his closet.  He enlists the help of Margo Maloo, a monster fighting girl who children and monsters are afraid of.  Together they become a team and Charles begins to see what is really in his city.

This book was fun and has a great spin on the monster in the closet idea.  The illustrations are appealing and easy to read and the story line is entertaining.  I put the content at PG for a couple of reasons: First, Charles’s dad finds some playing cards with some ladies on them (which it’s not overly graphic, but graphic enough) and second, the monsters are creepy.  That said this is a fun graphic novel and I hope to see more adventures with Margo and Charles.
