Don’t Splash the Sasquatch! by Kent Redeker - ADVISABLE

Redeker, Kent  Don’t Splash the Sasquatch! Illustrated by Bob Staake.  PICTURE BOOK.  Disney Books, 2016. $16.99.  Content:  G.

Senor Sasquatch wants to sit by the pool, but not get splashed.  Unfortunately several other characters want to take a dip in the pool which results in Senor Sasquatch getting so wet that he becomes “squizzlefied.”  It is up to everyone to help de-squizzlefy him.

This is an imaginative and fun book that combines animals and species together to create brand-new creatures.  There is an Octo-Rhino, a Goat-Whale and a Loch-Ness-Monster-Space-Alien, for example.  The clever combinations make the book fun for young children.   The story-line is also entertaining with a good message.  It contains the repetition that children love in stories with well-mannered characters who work together in the end to help out a friend.  Very cute and very clever children’s book.

PRE-K – ADVISABLE.  Reviewer:  MM.
