Alistair Grim’s Odditorium by Gregory Funaro - ADVISABLE

Funaro, Gregory Alistair Grim’s Odditorium, 412 pgs. Disney Hyperion, 2015. $17.99.

Language G; Mature Content G; Violence PG.

Grubb is just your average Chummy, or as you might call him, a Chimney Sweep. He lives with Mr. Smears, his adoptive father, who enjoys drinking and beating Grubb.  Then everything changes when he stows away in the trunk of Alistair Grim and finds himself at the Odditorium. Grubb is welcomed but has no time to settle in, because someone is hunting the Odditorium and its Inhabitants. Grubb soon finds himself in the middle of a battle that could completely change the lives of millions.

I liked this book because it had a nice way of mixing science fiction with fantasy.  It kept me on the edge of my seat, there was not a single moment of un-excitement.  It was very easy to relate to the main character.  This is a great book for people who like a little bit of mystery and action at the same time.
