Frost, Helen. Sweep Up the Sun, PICTURE BOOK. Candlewick Press, 2015. $15.99. Content: G. Watch birds fly in this book, along to the rhythm of a poem about flight. The birds pictured are real photographs and there are many different types of birds represented. You can see them flap, fly, interact with other birds, and soar. The poem is mellow and soft and the photographs are very well done, but this book just wasn’t very engaging. I didn’t feel like there was enough variety in what the birds were doing. There is an explanation of all the different bird types in the back of the book, which really was the most interesting part. I just don’t think it will hold the attention of readers as well as it could. PRE-K, EL (K-3) -OPTIONAL. Reviewed by: Shay, School Librarian
