Mr. Tiffin has invited a famous poet to their class for “Poem in Your Pocket” day.  All month long the class studies poetry, even relating it to their other subjects.  Elinor wants to write the perfect poem, but when the big day arrives, she has nothing her pocket at all.  When she goes to share with the poet, the poet in turn teaches Elinor an important lesson.  

Poem in Your Pocket day is a fun way to celebrate poetry, sharing, writing, and public-speaking.  What a great set-up to prepare for the activities.
