Batman: Batman Versus the Riddler by Donals Lemke - ADVISABLE

Lemke, Donald  Batman: Batman Versus the Riddler Illustrated by Steven E. Gordon  Harper, 2014.  EARLY READER  $3.99  Content: PG.

The Riddler shows up at an awards ceremony for the police commissioner and announces that he has kidnapped the commissioner’s daughter and then proceeds to kidnap the commissioner.  Batman follows the clues and answers the riddles until he finds himself in a trap.  Batgirl comes along in time to save him from the trap.  They find the commissioner and it is revealed that his daughter is Batgirl.

Readers who love the superheroes will like this Batman book.  There are 4-6 sentences per page, and the pictures are dark.  I put it as PG because of the kidnapping and the sinister feel of the story.  The story has action and it is fun to see what the answers to the riddles are.  If you have a lot of Batman fans, then this is a good addition for your library.

EL (K-3)-ADVISABLE.  Reviewer, C. Peterson.
