A little bear, Maurice,
and his momma are preparing for his first hibernation. Before he can settle down, however, he is
determined to find Spring. He thinks he
has found some to share with his mother and his friends, but in the end finds
that Spring is some different, but just as wonderful.
Berger is amazingly talented. Her collages evoke Maurice’s wonderment and
exuberance and pulled me along to enjoy each moment with him. While the story is simple, they and the art
would be great inspirations for a combined story-writing and art activity.
