Evil Librarian by Michelle Knudsen - - ADVISABLE

Knudsen, Michelle Evil Librarian, 343 pgs. Candlewick Press, 2014. $16.99.  Language: R (74 swears 9 Fs)  ; Violence: PG13 (demon battles and monster violence); Mature Content:  PG13.

Cyn is head of stage crew, and the school musical, Sweeney Todd, opens in just a couple of weeks, and she’s got a hopeless crush on Ryan Halsey who is finally noticing her.  But when a new librarian starts working at the High School, the students are enthralled with his deep voice and good looks.  Especially Annie, Cyn’s best friend, who becomes a library aid and stops going to all her other classes.  But strangely, Cyn isn’t taken in,  and when the Principal is found dead, and students start acting strangely, it’s up to Cyn to stop this Evil Librarian!

This book hooked me on the first page, I loved it!  Great monster book, not too gory but plenty of thrill; sweet romance story without a lot of mature content; and it’s got a theater angle that the drama geeks are going to adore.
