It’s the summer
after third grade and Iva Honeycutt decides to change her name to Honeysuckle
to reflect her new desire to be a world explorer. Her dream this summer is to
find a Revolutionary War treasure in her hometown or backyard and have the best
summer ever, but her cousin, Heaven is constantly under her feet and getting in
the way. Can Iva and Heaven learn to get along? Will she find the treasure she
desires?
A cute, funny story for fans of Junie B. Jones and
Judy Moody. The characters are fairly well-developed. The plot is likable and would
be interesting enough for the intended audience. Readers who like realistic
fiction, humor, and strong, girl characters will enjoy reading this book.
EL(K-3). ADVISABLE. Reviewer: Jessica Moody, Library Media Specialist, Olympus
