PG, Violence PG-13. Set in the distant future, Saba and her twin brother Lugh
are living on a wasted landscape with their father and younger sister. One day
during a dust storm, four cloaked horsemen arrive and kidnap Lugh, as well as
kill her father. Saba is determined to rescue her brother, and she and her
sister set off to find him. Along the way the two girls meet up with a handsome
daredevil named Jack and a band of girls called the Free Hawks who join their
cause. Throughout her journey, Saba learns that she is more determined and
cunning than she could have ever dreamed of, and starts to believe she actually
has a chance in rescuing her beloved brother. I loved this book! Any fan of the
Hunger Games will love Saba as much as they love Katniss. She’s a strong female
lead, and I love that in a book. Saba will do whatever she needs to survive and
save her brother. Middle School, High School – ESSENTIAL. Reviewer: AL
