Basketball Disasters (Mason Dixon Book 3) by Claudia Mills -ADVISABLE

Mills, Claudia and illustrated by Francis, Guy Basketball Disasters (Mason Dixon Book 3) 176 pgs. Knopf Books for Young Readers, 2012. $11.04.  (Rating: G).
Mason decides to join a basketball team, and his Dad becomes the coach. Their team isn’t very good, but things start to look up when his good friend Nora joins. Then Mason hurts his ankle! Will he find a love for basketball? In the meantime a new dog-hating neighbor causes some trouble when Mason’s dog goes into her yard.
Finally a Mason book I liked (See my reviews here: Book 1, Book 2)! Mason’s negativity was toned down immensely. The plot was at once more complex and more interesting. The drudgery mentioned in past reviews was replaced with more interesting events, which added to the plot. While not my favorite series, it might have the potential to grow on me.
