Pearl’s identity has been a bit of a mystery to her because her mother refuses
to tell her who her father is. Lucky for Pearl, her best friend and neighbor,
Henry, has had a similar experience that he can relate to because he doesn’t know
who is father is either. After fourteen years of mystery and amateur detective
work, a series of events helps each to find their own form of closure.
I liked the issues that were raised in
this book. It would be good for a child of a gay parent to read as well as
anyone who has ever struggled with finding answers about the past.
