Starting
in 1951 and going up through 2009, this author covers the civil right movement
and how certain events throughout history led to Barack Obama becoming
president.
A fairly
unbiased memoir with a timeline, primary sources, and more. Although the index
stinks and the author missed an opportunity to give additional resources for
readers to check out, she did a fairly good job of depicting the time period.
Because of the content and the
extensiveness of the memoir, older readers
will mostly be the ones to enjoy this over younger students. MS, HS.
