The Boy Who Cried Alien by Marilyn Singer-OPTIONAL

Singer, Marilyn.  The Boy Who Cried Alien, Pictures by Brian Biggs.  48 pgs.  Hyperion Book CH, 2012.  $17.99.  G PICTURE BOOK.  Larry the Liar is at it again.  This time he tried to convince everyone that aliens had invaded their town.  But because Larry never seems to tell the truth, no one believes him.  That is until others spot the aliens and become alarmed.  Then it is “Larry to the Rescue” as he is left to find a way to send the aliens back home.  The illustrations are incredible! They are bold and detailed.  For this reason alone, I would recommend the book.  The story line is cute, but lacks “umph”.  I didn’t like how it switched from rhyming text to regular text.  I would have rather seen the entire book in regular text.  OPTIONAL.
