Hercules is spending two weeks with his uncle during summer break after his father dies in a plane crash. His uncle gives him 12 tasks to accomplish to keep Hercules from being bored. He does do all twelve, but not in the way he plans or the reader expects and he discovers things about himself and his father.
This is a great book for reluctant readers. It's short, with large text, short chapters, and a lot of action.
