This is the story of a loud, fast, and energetic farm puppy. Luckily just the right family comes along to adopt him, they recognize his unique traits, and call him Enzo after a race car driver. When they get home Enzo finds a way out the yard and goes on a race all alone. Can Enzo find his way back?
This is a sweet story with cute illustrations. But the cover is very unappealing, dark and dated looking, while the artwork inside is quite nice. I like this story, but I don’t think many children will get the race car connection. The ending is quite unrealistic, and I prefer giving kids tools to be proactive -how many puppies that run off find their way home completely on their own? This book is quite long and wordy, so prepare to read aloud for a child.
