Berger, Lou Dream Dog PICTURE BOOK. Random House
Children’s Books, 2014. $17.99. This
book is about a boy named Harry who really wanted a dog. He could never have a dog because his Dad had
a sensitive nose. So Harry solved this
problem by creating an imaginative dog named Waffle. One day Harry’s Dad got fired from the pepper
factory that caused him to have his sensitive nose and suddenly was no longer allergic
to dogs. For Harry’s birthday his Dad surprised
him with a real, live dog. He named this
dog Bumper. Read to find out if Bumper
and Waffle become friends and how Harry solves this problem. We liked the
illustrations and the creative story.
The writing kept us interested and we thought the story was exciting and
imaginative. ADVISABLE. Pre-K. EL
(K-3). Student Reviewed: JL- age 11.
