Theodore Roosevelt was born into a wealthy New York family. He chose politics over law, but his true love was animals, hunting and the great outdoors. This biography starts with the courtship of his parents and recounts Roosevelt’s life through childhood, school and his political career.
I enjoyed this medium length biography. The story is told simply, without a lot of political vocabulary. It can be a bit confusing in places for a younger reader as the narrative isn’t always linear, but, overall, the illustrations (from periodicals of the time) and photographs contribute to make this a worthwhile read.
