Warrior’s Heart: Becoming a Man of Compassion and Courage, 263 pgs. NON-FICTION. Houghton Mifflin, 2012. $16.99 Content: Language: PG-13 (11 swears);

Eric Greitens anticipated college throughout his childhood, but found
that it lacked the adventure that he sought.
So during his summer months, he went to different countries and
volunteered in different ways. He taught
English in China, worked with refugees in Rwanda and Croatia and helped at an
orphanage in Bolivia. When he graduated
from Oxford, he chose to go through training to see if he could become a Navy
SEAL.
This is a great story about a man
who wants to help protect and serve people throughout the world. The parts about his training to become a Navy
SEAL are fascinating and his choices throughout his life are selfless without making
the reader feel like he is being preachy.
I think this book would appeal to boys.
There were only eleven actual swear words, but at times he would blank
out the “F” words.
