Eric doesn't know why sixth grade is so different.
Donovan won't talk to him, Melody turned her back on him, and the rest of the
sixth grade is started to make him the brunt of all jokes. Why is this
happening? But, more importantly, how can Eric change it?
This mystery is one
for the record books. There's enough truth to make readers see the parallels to
real sixth grade and to keep it from sounding completely unrealistic while
still getting the message against bullying across. I like how The Bully Book switches
from being "The Book" to Eric's journal every other chapter. However,
it was sad to read as Eric lost his friends, got in trouble, and was
embarrassed. I hope there aren't any real "Grunts" out there, but, if
there are, please report it; please talk to a friend, a parent, a teacher,
someone.
