Shealy, Dennis
Terrific Trains Penguin, 2014.
$3.99 PICTURE BOOK Content: G.
This is a basic look at trains and their history. The book explores different kinds of trains,
such as steam engine and diesel and tells how trains carry cargo and passengers. There is a brief history of trains in the
United States. It also discusses the
future of trains and how computers are changing the way trains work.
There are a lot of illustrations and side
bars that explain the basic functions, history and purpose of trains. This is a very simple and undetailed account
of trains that will be a good introduction to young readers. There are a couple of paragraphs worth of information
per page spread.
