Too Many Frogs! by Ann & John Hassett - OPTIONAL
Hassett, Ann & John. Too Many Frogs! Houghton Mifflin Books, 2011. $16.99. PICTURE BOOK. Nana Quimby is trying to make a cake, but gets interrupted by water coming from her cellar. She brings in the plumber who fixes the leak, but then there are frogs coming from the cellar. She asks a girl what to do and she tells Nana Quimby to put them in a goldfish bowl. More frogs come out and Nana asks a boy what to do and he suggests putting the frogs in cups of water. There are more frogs and more suggestions until a quirky conclusion with cake. The acrylic illustrations are whimsical and disproportionate. An enjoyable one-time read. Pre-K, EL – OPTIONAL. Samantha, Public Librarian.
