Huget, Jennifer LaRue The Best Birthday Party Ever Schwartz and Wade Books 2011 $16.99.
To make the best birthday ever, planning needs to begin right away. It’s never too early to start. The birthday girl (not named in story) is counting down and as the big day gets closer, the plans get bigger and the guest list longer. When her birthday finally arrives, she finds that the festivities are very scaled back from what she planned, but is so happy about the things she does have, she’s not concerned about what she doesn’t have.
This book is very endearing and “all girl”! I like the message about being content with what you have versus what you don’t have.
ESSENTIAL, Pre-K, EL (K-3). Shauna, Reading teacher.
