The Billionaire’s Curse by Richard Newsome - ADVISABLE

Newsome, Richard The Billionaire’s Curse, 352 p. Walden Pond (HarperCollins), 2010.  $17.  Content: G.  Could there be anything worse than inheriting twenty billion pounds? Gerald Wilkins, 13,  doesn’t think so.  His parents have run off for a luxury trip to visit Gerald’s Caribbean island.  His Uncle and cousins hate him – and so do the servants he seems to have inherited.  Only the kindness of two strangers – Ruby and Sam – will help Gerald solve the mystery that killed his great-aunt – and that may very well kill Gerald.  I was delighted to get caught up in Gerald’s adventure.  It was a little odd that he had to find two random kids to help him, but the adventure and action were well worth that leap of faith.  There is one other book out in this series and a third one on its way.  EL, MS – ADVISABLE. Cindy, Library Teacher.
