A & L do Summer by Jan Blazanin -ADVISABLE

Blazanin, Jan A & L do Summer, 288 pgs. EgmontUSA, 2011. $8.99. (Language-PG -Swear Count: 4b-, Violence-G; Sexual Content-PG13.)
Aspen and her best friend Laurel have the whole summer before them –their goals are to simply have fun and meet guys. Unfortunately everything seems be contriving against them -from the town bully’s, to their summer jobs, and even the neighbors skunk. The girls can’t seem to stay out of mischief!
This book is fast paced, fun, and the situations/plot are creative. Strangely this book reads like a 2nd book in a series, but I can’t find the first. It’s kind of disconcerting because I was imaging a missed a book in which Laurel was new to town and despite their differences, the two girls become friends. While wholesome to a certain point, the book does contain teen themes like virginity and drinking.
